Cuba in Pictures

In anticipation of my meditations on Cuba, here are some things I saw there. Feel free to ask questions, though I can’t promise to answer them.

(In case you were wondering, Montreal was also awesome and I’d highly recommend it, but pretty much nowhere can beat Cuba for cool factor.)

You can’t tell but these are eyeballs.

If you were a dictator, what would you make accessible for the people? Castro chose ice cream, in all its 1960’s Disney soda fountain style.

Of course, not everything’s so peachy.

Mansions like these are left abandoned and rotting.

But it’s certainly photogenic…
